Dr Stefanie Hourani

Dr Stefanie Hourani
Stefanie Hourani was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.  Growing up, Dr. Stefanie stayed busy playing competitive soccer on school and club teams.  She received a scholarship to attend the University of Kansas…. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!  It was there that she met her future husband, Christian, in freshman Biology lab.  She graduated from University of Kansas with a BA in Microbiology.

Prior to dental school, Dr. Stefanie gained valuable experience working as a dental assistant.  Dr. Stefanie received her DDS from University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry.

After getting married, Stefanie moved to Phoenix with her husband and puppy, Oscar.  In the years after graduating, Dr. Stefanie worked in both private practice general dentistry and non-profit pediatric dental offices.

Her experience at Parsons Center for Pediatric Dentistry at Murphy, a non-profit clinic serving the Murphy school district, solidified her desire to specialize in pediatric dentistry.  Dr. Stefanie completed her two-year Pediatric Dental Residency Program with NYU Lutheran Medical Center right here in Phoenix.

Dr. Stefanie founded a not-for-profit dental organization, called SOHO - Special Oral Health Outreach (sohodentalaz.org). Through this organization, Dr. Stefanie and Dr. Rob provide dental care to both behaviorally and medically special needs children throughout the valley.  Dr. Stefanie and Dr. Rob coordinate closely with the transplant team at Phoenix Children’s hospital to ensure that all children pending organ or bone marrow transplantation have their dental needs met prior to surgery.

Dr. Stefanie enjoys staying active in her community.  While living in Kansas City, she participated in various programs such as Shadow Buddies and Shepherd’s Center.  She has been involved in the Junior League of Phoenix and worked on many of their early-childhood education programs.
